Origins

Origins was a group exhibition that opened in October 2024, bringing together alumni from J. Vienožinskis Art School – the place where my curiosity for art was first sparked at the age of thirteen, though I didn’t realize then that it would mark the beginning of my artistic journey. Four afternoons a week, I took the long bus ride to attend foundational art classes. This place remains close to my heart – a quiet marker of a beginning, an origin.
The exhibition was held in a small, rundown, abandoned storage building next to the school. There, my fragmented imprint pieces – traces collected from various spaces – settled into the cracks of the architecture, hidden like Easter eggs, waiting to be discovered, slowly blending into the decaying surroundings.
These pieces break. Structures crumble. And yet, there is something quietly poetic in it all – shimmering glimpses of stories pressing through the fractures of memory.
